Ema Paulino has been appointed Chair of the Entrepreneurship and SME Committee at BusinessEurope, the organisation representing national business confederations from European Union member states.
“At a time when small and medium-sized enterprises are facing complex challenges, intricate problems, and profound transformations, it is essential to ensure their voice is heard at European level. I carry with me the commitment to advocate for a more favourable environment for innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability for SMEs across Europe,” stated the President of ANF and Vice-President of the Portuguese Business Confederation (CIP), adding that it is “an honour” to take on the role.
CIP, in turn, emphasised that the appointment represents “recognition of both the technical expertise and professional track record” of Ema Paulino, who brings “a rare combination of hands-on experience, European vision, and strong communication skills.” “Her leadership will be crucial to ensuring that European policies are made with SMEs – and not merely for SMEs,” said Armindo Monteiro, President of CIP.
According to the confederation, the Entrepreneurship and SME Committee is one of BusinessEurope’s strategic working bodies, closely monitoring the European legislative process on matters with a direct impact on businesses.
