The Pharmacy Museum officially became part of the Portuguese Museum Network (RPM). This accreditation acknowledges the museum’s technical quality, as well as its rigorous standards in preserving and valuing the history of health in Portugal.
“This accreditation is a recognition of the immense contribution the Pharmacy Museum has made to the history of health in Portugal. Over the past decades, the museum has been a meeting point between science, culture, and citizenship, promoting knowledge and highlighting the role of pharmacy in society through pieces that undeniably mark people’s lives,” emphasizes the museum’s director, João Neto.
Meanwhile, the president of ANF states that “this integration is a testament to the museum’s role as a space for culture, science, and memory in the health field, reflecting the contribution of community pharmacies to the life of communities.”
The Pharmacy Museum’s accreditation took place on Tuesday, November 4, during the event celebrating RPM’s 25th anniversary in Braga.
Founded by ANF, the Pharmacy Museum is the result of the clear determination of community pharmacies to preserve the profession’s history. Today, the museum invites visitors on a journey through 5,000 years of health history, showcasing more than 15,000 pieces between Lisbon and Porto.
