Training the pharmacy team

Ensuring that the population finds in community pharmacies teams of enormous humanism, who are both scientifically and technically prepared to respond to and anticipate people's needs, with a view to achieving the best health results, has been one of the principles by which the sector has based its value proposition.

This is a promise in permanent delivery and constant renewal, based on health professionals with a clinical profile, with a deep ambition to update and explore their skills, and a true sense of fulfilment through the relationship and the direct positive impact on shaping people's quality of life.

Through the creation of specialised areas for generating and disseminating knowledge, the ANF has been directly supporting community pharmacies for more than 40 years in developing their professionals to fulfil this goal.

The Medicines Information Centre (Cedime) brings together a team of specialists in pharmacology and therapeutics, dedicated to studying and designing models for providing pharmaceutical care, based on knowledge of the epidemiology of diseases and the respective public health challenges.

The Postgraduate School of Health and Management specialises in sharing this knowledge through continuous training and capacity building of pharmacy teams, through programmes such as FIT®, for the implementation of innovative interventions and practices, ensuring the delivery of a prompt, capable, safe and high-quality networked response to people and society.

The combined efforts of the professionals in the community teams and the support tools created by the ANF make pharmacies today centres for the application, production and sharing of lively, dynamic and multidisciplinary technical-scientific knowledge, at the service of and in close dialogue with the population.
