FIP members have elected Teresa Almeida, a member of the ANF Board, to serve on the Executive Committee of the Community Pharmacy Section for the next term. The election was held this Wednesday during the section’s virtual annual meeting, ahead of the 84th FIP World Congress, taking place from 30 August to 2 September in Montreal, Canada.
Teresa Almeida received the highest number of votes in an election that also included community pharmacist candidates from Canada, Egypt, Malaysia and the Netherlands.
Her election reflects recognition of the work carried out by ANF and, in particular, by Teresa Almeida to advance community pharmacy internationally. It also helps strengthen Portugal’s participation in international forums dedicated to the development of professional practice in community pharmacy.
During the meeting, Sarah Dineen-Griffin, from the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA), was also elected President of the Section, while Rajatheran (Sham) Moodley, from the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA), was elected Treasurer.
